Consulting Manager

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

 Working on multiple engagements, the role of the Associate Principal is to oversee, manage and ensure the success of each team project, making sure that team resources are allocated and used in the most effective way possible

 This will include leading and coaching junior team members so that they complete a project performing at a higher level than when they began the project

 Acting as the primary client contact, the Associate Principal will support service line business development goals by anticipating client needs and crafting proposals to meet those needs

 Finally, the Associate Principal will be a thought leader, developing tools to increase service line offerings

 

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE  

 Bachelor degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field , Masters degree preferred

 7-10 years consulting experience preferred

 Demonstrated economic, financial, and quantitative problem solving skills

 Knowledge and effective use of business concepts

 Strong knowledge of spreadsheet and presentation software including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

 Superior writing skills that are sufficient to create professional presentations and reports

 Ability to work with equal levels of effectiveness in a team environment as well as work independently when

 Effective communication skills with an ability to share and synthesize knowledge

 Excellent interpersonal communication, leadership and, relationship building skills

 The ability and drive to be proactive, resourceful and, to think outside of the box with minimum supervision; go out of the way to be cooperative and get the work done smoothly and create an outstanding impression

 Exceptional time management and organizational skills; able to balance multiple priorities and projects, keeping all team members informed of progress and issues

 Knowledge and familiarity of systems such as GIS Mapping systems, MapInfo, Archview, Claritas and/or Logic Tools is a plus but not

 25% - 40% travel

 

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee client project from scope definition to delivery

 Develop creative analytical framework for multiple projects

 Use hypotheses and project conclusions to make final recommendations to clients

 Oversee creation of Requests for Information (RFI) documents

 Develop and effectively communicate the structure for individual project goals, models, and presentation materials Oversee the development of presentation materials and ensure the final product is succinct and delivers a powerful message

 Review the team’s real estate and financial modeling, labor cost models and quantitative projections

 Use superior written, verbal communication and, presentation skills to effectively influence clients

 Lead team sales presentations

 Ensure a supportive and collaborative, teamwork environment

 Respond to team requests in a timely manner, meeting all team and project deadlines

 Participate in the training of new team members

 Participate in key recruiting and team development initiatives

 Mentor, coach, and train junior team members

  • Effectively lead presentations at client meetings

 Acting as primary team contact for senior client members, build effective client relationships to help the team meet or exceed client needs

 Understand client’s business models to create relevant deliverables

 Effectively leads team members and the client to produce the best possible results for the client

 Oversee deliverables to ensure that all analyses and materials delivered to the client are accurate, high quality, and meet deadlines

 Conduct on-site interviews when needed to collect data

 Define project strategy and develop project requirements

 Oversee management of multiple clients and ensure all project deadlines and client expectations are met

 Manage all timeline risks associated with individual projects

 Project and manage all project costs to ensure they balance with client requirements

 Delegate and assign project work

 Design new services for existing and potential clients to support the service line sales goals

 Generate new business through client networking opportunities

 Interpret, evaluate, and interrelate research data for inclusion into client briefings, presentations, and reports

 Working with senior team members and using personal engagement knowledge, create marketing and training materials

 As a critical thought leader, write white papers and industry reports

 Develop new industry tools, technology, and models to be applied to current projects

 Other job duties as assigned
