    Cushman & Wakefield has secured two new development experts to join its growing national development consultancy team. Peter Disley has been appointed as a partner from Drivas Jonas and Virginia Blackman will join as an associate partner from DTZ. 

    Peter Disley and Virginia Blackman are joining Cushman & Wakefield’s successful  18 strong national development consultancy team headed by partner, Alistair Parker.  The Cushman & Wakefield team has advised on some of the UK’s most significant regeneration schemes including; Liverpool One, Preston Tithebarn, Crawley’s Town Centre North and Sheffield’s Sevenstone/New Retail Quarter and is currently handling around 2 million sq m of new floorspace.

    Peter most recently led the Town Centres team at Drivers Jonas’ Manchester office and has over 10 years of development experience advising a diverse range of public and private sector clients.  His involvements in large-scale retail-led schemes include Preston Tithebarn, Hull St Stephens and Altrincham Town Centre.

    Virginia joins Cushman & Wakefield from the Donaldsons’ (now DTZ)  compulsory purchase team where she has been responsible for the large scale CPOs on Portsmouth’s Northern Quarter and Chester’s Forum. She is also a member of the RICS Valuation Faculty Board.

    C&W Development Consultancy Key Involvements

    1                     COMPULSORY PURCHASE – major compulsory purchase inquiries and negotiation of compensation undertaken for Liverpool One, Canterbury Whitefriars, Didcot Orchard Square, Basingstoke Festival Place and currently undertaking for Sheffield Sevenstone (NRQ).

    2                     CRAWLEY Town Centre North - 152,000 m² retail led mixed use development over 8.24 hectares on behalf of Grosvenor: selection submission, design & development strategy, co-operation agreement, development agreement (with Crawley Borough Council), JLP anchor store, site acquisitions & compulsory compensation and  retail leasing.

    3                     LIVERPOOL One – 260,000 m² retail led mixed use development over 17.8 hectares on behalf of Liverpool City Council: City shopping study, planning policy, PSDA site studies, development brief, partner selection (Grosvenor), development agreement, planning & CPO Inquiries, site acquisitions & compulsory compensation, retail leasing and development site sales.

    4                     BEDFORD Town Centre West – 25,000 m² retail led mixed use development over 5.17 hectares on behalf of Bedford Borough Council: development brief, partner selection (St Modwen), development agreement, design & development, planning policy, site acquisitions and retail leasing.

    5                     PRESTON Tithebarn – 157,000 m² retail led mixed use development over 11.34 hectares on behalf of Grosvenor: opportunity identification, planning policy, design & development strategy, co-operation agreement, development agreement, JLP anchor store, joint venture partner selection and JV agreement (with Lend Lease), site acquisitions & compulsory compensation and  retail leasing.

    6                     MACCLESFIELD Exchange St – 49,000 m² retail led mixed use development over 5.17 hectares on behalf of Wilson Bowden: design & development, planning policy, site acquisitions and retail leasing.

    7                     STEVENAGE Town Centre Regen - – 130,000 m² retail led mixed use development over 7.03 hectares on behalf of ING Real Estate/Stanhope: selection submission, design & development, financial modelling, development agreement (with Stevenage Borough Council), retail planning policy, site acquisitions and retail preleasing.

    8                     STOCKPORT Bridgefield – 83,000 m² retail led mixed use development over 4.8 hectares on behalf of Stockport Borough Council: town centre master plan (with BDP), planning policy, development brief, partner selection (Lend Lease), development agreement, site acquisitions & compulsory compensation and retail leasing.

    9                     NORTHWICH Barons Quay – 54,000 m² retail led mixed use development over 8 hectares on behalf of Vale Royal Borough Council: planning policy, development brief, partner selection (Wilson Bowden), development agreement, site assembly and retail leasing.

    10                 SHEFFIELD New Retail Quarter – 105,000 m² retail led mixed use development over 8 hectares on behalf of Sheffield City Council: City master plan (with Koetter Kim), planning policy, viability studies, development brief, partner selection, JLP anchor store, development agreement, planning & CPO Inquiries, site acquisitions & compulsory compensation and retail leasing.
