Foot Locker is to open two more stores in Poland in February: in the Bonarka City Center
in Kraków and in the Pasaż Grunwaldzki shopping centre in Wrocław. Cushman & Wakefield, a
global commercial real estate consultant, represented Foot Locker in the lease of retail space
in both locations.
The US-based Foot Locker is one of the largest athletic footwear retailers in Europe. Its
stores offer the latest in athletic-inspired performance products, manufactured primarily by
the leading athletic brands. Its targeted group of customers is between 12 and 30 years old.
Foot Locker operates over 3,500 stores in 28 countries and the annual customer visits in Europe
are estimated at 170 million. In December 2011 it opened its first store in Poland in the
Arkadia shopping centre in Warsaw.
The Bonarka City Center is the largest shopping centre in Kraków. It was opened in November
2009 and offers 91,000 sq.m of space for lease. The Pasaż Grunwaldzki shopping and
entertainment centre has been on the Wrocław market since April 2007 and offers 50,000 sq.m of
space for lease. Foot Locker’s stores are scheduled to be opened in Kraków on 11 February and
in Wrocław on 15 February. The company will occupy 322.12 sq.m in the Bonarka City Center and
303.68 sq.m in the Pasaż Grunwaldzki centre.
Szymon Łukasik, senior negotiator of the Retail Department at Cushman & Wakefield, said:
“Foot Locker announced its expansion strategy in Poland in December last year and the opening
of the new stores confirms this.”
The Project Management Department of Cushman & Wakefield was responsible for the
coordination of fit-out services in Foot Locker’s new stores, and the Retail Department assists
the company in its expansion.
