DALLAS, TX - November 19, 2009 - Tektronix Communications, a leading worldwide provider of
Network Intelligence and Communications Test Solutions, has purchased Wilcox Center 190, a
185,000-square foot office building located at 3033 Highway 190 in Plano, Texas. Mike Wyatt,
Bill McClung and Randy Thompson from the Dallas office of Cushman & Wakefield of Texas,
Inc. (C&W) represented Tektronix Communications in the selection and negotiation process.
Bill Cawley, Buddy Tompkins and Seth Thatcher of GVA Cawley handled negotiations for the
ownership group, WDS 190 LP.
Wilcox Center 190 is a 3-story LEED Gold Certified office building with floor plates of
62,000-64,000 square feet and prominent signage on President George Bush Highway. More than 20%
of the structure was built using recycled materials. This facility is a good cultural fit for
Tektronix Communications in their desire to gain efficiencies and footprint by transitioning
from a vertical office space to a horizontal layout, said Mr. Wyatt, an executive director
within C&W's Brokerage Services group. It is one of the best examples of right-sizing we
have seen in this market.
The building is currently in shell condition awaiting tenant finish, which will be coordinated
by Mr. Thompson. This project involves far more than people moving from one place to another,
said Mr. Thompson, senior director and area leader within the firm?s Client Solutions Group. It
involves the transformation of how Tektronix Communications works and supports a new culture of
collaboration vital to their continued success.
Tektronix Communications is expected to relocate approximately 475 employees from its current
location in Richardson, Texas, where it leases approximately 241,000 square feet, to the new
headquarters building in Plano. Interior finish construction should be complete during the
second quarter of 2010.
