Christopher Lowery, chief executive officer of Global Capital Markets & Principal
Activities at Cushman & Wakefield, is pleased to announce that David Rendall has been
appointed as the new chief executive officer of the European operations of Cushman &
Wakefield Investors, the rapidly expanding investment management arm of global property adviser
Cushman & Wakefield.
David Rendall joined the firm in 2004 when an exclusive partnership was formed between
Cushman & Wakefield and Fountain Capital Partners. This partnership was formalised in
2006, creating Cushman & Wakefield Investors in Europe, which is part of Cushman &
Wakefield’s independent global investment management business led by Chris Lowery based in New
York.
Since joining the firm, David Rendall has built up a significant investment management
business in Continental Europe to complement the firm’s long established and successful UK
investment management business headed by Bill MacLeod in London.
Cushman & Wakefield Investors’ European operations now total over 35 professionals
working across its three offices in London, Paris and Frankfurt and has around €6.1
billion of assets under management.
Jens Göttler, who was hired from Deka in 2006 to run Cushman & Wakefield Investors’
German operations from Frankfurt, will together with Bill MacLeod in London, have
responsibility for managing and overseeing the growth of the European business under the
leadership of David Rendall.
In making this announcement, Chris Lowery said, "Cushman & Wakefield Investors has
achieved an already enviable record of success in managing its clients' real estate investments
in the UK and Europe, and I am confident that the management team now led by David Rendall will
build on this record as we grow Cushman & Wakefield Investors into one of the leading real
estate investment management firms in the world."
In 2006, Cushman & Wakefield Investors won a major mandate from PRUPIM to undertake
acquisition and asset management assignments on its behalf in Continental Europe. This
co-operation has resulted in seven acquisitions and over €300m of investments in 18
months.
In 2007, Cushman & Wakefield Investors in partnership with financial services group
KGAL, announced its first European property fund - The Paris Office Growth Fund. The
Paris Office Growth Fund will target core plus/value add opportunities and will be a
Luxembourg-domiciled vehicle designed for institutional investors.
