The Irish textile chain Primark opened recently one more store in Portugal at Braga Parque. It
is the second store in the North of Portugal, the first one was at the Parque Nascente. The new
unit comprise an area of 4,486 m2.
In addition to stores opened at Dolce Vita Tejo, Parque Nascente, Forum Sintra and Aqua
Portimão, this opening reinforces the brand presence in the Portuguese market, and is an
evidence of the Primark's expansion plans in Portugal.
Cushman & Wakefield acted on behalf of Primark finding and negotiating the most appropriate
retail location for the expansion of the brand.
Primark is one of the biggest textile chains founded in Ireland and with a strong presence in
the United Kingdom, which has a wide range of quality products at low prices targeting to young
customers who follow fashion trends.
Primark's European network has 224 stores and about 34,000 professionals in seven countries.
The brand has today 5 stores in Portugal and intends to open more in 2012.
According to Mafalda Cotta of Cushman & Wakefield’s
retail department, “It is a great pleasure to see that, there are some retailers, as
Primark, which maintain Portugal on its radar and continuing to see opportunities to invest in
our country, despite the present economic environment where most of the retailers retract their
expansion plans.”
