Cushman & Wakefield earned distinction as the No.1 brokerage firm in Manhattan, according
to a recent ranking in Real Estate Forum on the top New York commercial real estate brokerages.
In its October 2011 issue, Cushman & Wakefield led the pack with more than 27 million
square feet of completed leases from July 1, 2010 to June 30, 2011. Cushman & Wakefield was
ahead of the second place firm by 20 percent.
The annual ranking is based on information submitted by the brokerage firms to the
publication. Editors collected the deal information from leasing and investment brokerage
houses across the metro area. Based on the total square footage of leasing and total volume of
property sales in the Greater New York area, which includes the five boroughs of New York City,
Westchester and Long Island, the editors use the information to rank the top five brokerage
firms in New York, the largest CBD office market in North America.
Cushman & Wakefield's Capital Markets group completed $1.5 billion in sales and moved up
in the ranking to third this year after completing more than $309 million and ranking fifth in
last year's ranking.
The ranking also lists the top leasing and sales brokers from each of the top five firms.
The top-producing Cushman & Wakefield leasing brokers included John Cefaly, Tara Stacom,
Gus Field and Robert Lowe. The top-producing sales brokers included Steve Kohn, Helen Hwang and
Andrew Merin.
