  • Retail park Haná becomes interiors centre

    20 Dec, 2011, Prague

A new occupier is coming to the Retail Park Haná – the Möbelix brand will be opening a furniture shop there on 27th December. It will further strengthen the position of the retail park, which is aiming to become a furniture and interiors centre in the Olomouc region. Jena, yet another furniture brand, opened its outlet here in the course of this year, and the paint seller Flügger barvy hasfollowed suit.

Cushman & Wakefield performed a survey among  customers at the Retail Park Haná in October 2011, aimed at defining the “regular customer”, their preferences, and habits and reasons for visiting the shopping park. The results of the survey corresponds to the strategy applied by the owners of the park – namely, to create an interiors centre, offering a varied range of brands of goods for the home, commencing with furniture and accessories, to bathrooms and kitchen fittings,  as well as decorative elements of home interiors, such as wallpaper, paints, and fabrics.

“The survey has shown that the largest portion of the customers of the Retail Park Haná (56 per cent) are people aged between 30-50 years. As regards the merchants in the given segment of the goods, they form the most important  target group of customers. People in this  age group are usually looking to furnish their first homes or modify or modernise their existing dwellings. Thus, they create the demand for exactly the segment of goods, which are represented in the retail park. They are also likely to make their purchases during a visit to the park”, says Lukáš Výtisk of the C&W Retail Warehouse team.

Customers belonging to the 30-50 year age group, at the same time, most often head to the the Jysk, Jena, Kika, and Siko shops. Ninety per cent of the retial park’s visitors travel by car, in order to more easily transport heavier purchases and to gain easier access directly to the shops. This represents one of the major benefits of the concepts of retail parks. That is, easy access for customers making targeted purchases.

“Firms that currently tend to expand have been very cautious in picking up their new locations. This year, several new occupiers decided to join  the Retail Park Haná; they either leased or released approximately 8,500 square metres of its floor area. This confirm its quality”, according to Lukas Vytisk.

The Retail Park Haná is situated on the western outskirts of the city of Olomouc, in an attractive shopping area next to the Haná Shopping Mall with 60 outlets. The Retail Park Haná covers approximately 19,000 square metres and incorporates 17 large-area outlets. The park has currently rented 85 per cent of its premises. The real estate is the property of the companies Gemo and Pradera.
