Cushman & Wakefield Promotes “Transformational Change” in Client Operating Models
7 Dec, 2011, New York
Cushman & Wakefield's Corporate Occupier and Investor Services group (CIS) today issued its
latest Occupier Insight report, entitled "Transformational Change." The publication
offers a detailed look at the powerful trends shaping the operational models of commercial real
estate executives (CREs) who are adapting to a host of changes across the industry, including
changing demographics in the work-force, shifting workspace requirements, and advancements in
new technology.
"We're seeing a pronounced change in corporate occupier strategies based on the changes
occurring across the industry," said Rick Cleveland, co-author of the report and Managing
Director of Research and Strategy for Cushman & Wakefield's Corporate Occupier group.
"Leading companies today are taking steps to centralize or streamline their CRE functions
so they can capitalize on efficiencies gained from cost containment models and general shifts
in workplace trends."
Driven by pressure to create value for their organization beyond managing costs, many CREs are
in the process of restructuring their organizations in order to compete more strategically. The
report offers case studies and perspectives from leading industry professionals who are
assisting some of the world's largest global corporations in response to dramatic changes in
CRE operating models. Key elements of the report include advice on becoming a "change
agent" and selecting the best organizational structure.
