Cushman & Wakefield has appointed global capital-raising specialist Bernhard Karas as a
Director within its global capital markets team.
Based in Hong Kong, Bernhard will work closely with
Cushman & Wakefield teams in London, Frankfurt, Singapore and New York. He will be
responsible for equity-raising on behalf of external clients and introducing capital from Asia
into global markets, as well as seeking investment opportunities across
Asia for international investors outside the region.
Bernhard joins Cushman & Wakefield after nine years at M3 Capital Partners, the last two
years of which he was based in Hong Kong. During his time at M3 Bernhard advised leading
property companies on the formation of real estate private equity vehicles and raised capital
from global institutional investors.
Greg Vorwaller, CEO of global capital markets for Cushman & Wakefield, said:
“Bernhard brings a wealth of experience in the capital-raising arena, having been
involved in the origination and execution of advisory transactions and capital-raising mandates
in excess of US$10 billion.”
Recent Cushman & Wakefield capital-raising successes include the securing of over £250m
of equity for the Legal & General UK Property Income Fund, and the establishment of a new
£50m JV between Moorfield and Safeland Plc to build a leisure hostel platform. The team has
also recently completed a US$728m transaction in Singapore.
