Global real estate consultant Cushman & Wakefield (C&W) announced today that Carl Zeiss
Vision Portugal will be the first tenant of the Adamastor building in Parque das Nações in
Lisbon which was developed by Imopólis,
Designed by the architect Regino Cruz and completed in 2007, the Adamastor building has
12,200 m2 of offices, divided between two 14-floor towers. At the present time, this is one of
the largest office buildings available to let in Lisbon, and Cushman & Wakefield has been
selected by Imopólis as its exclusive leasing agent.
Carl Zeiss, which was founded in 1846, is one of the world’s biggest lens manufacturers and
is present in 30 countries. The company also has production centres in Europe, Central and
North America, and Asia. The company will now occupy 640 m2 of office space in this
building.
The need to move to new offices arose due to the merger of two companies, Sola and Winter
Group, which had offices in two different locations in the Greater Lisbon area – Setúbal and
Quinta da Beloura.
According to Gonçalo Empis of Carl Zeiss Portugal, “The choice of the Adamastor building was
due to its location, good accessibilities, proximity to public transport and the visibility and
corporate image provided by the building. We are confident that this new space fits in with the
concept of modernity, dynamism and prestige that are the guiding principles of Carl Zeiss
Vision Portugal.”
According to Amílcar Marques da Silva of C&W’s Office Agency team in Portugal,
“Adamastor’s strong image and modern facilities are appropriate to the current needs of
companies, and has attracted great interest from occupiers who are currently looking for high
quality space in Lisbon. The building’s flexibility and the developer’s ability to respond are
essential to the success of the leasing process. We have every reason to believe that we will
quickly have the building completely occupied."
