Prominent Real Estate Executive Takes Helm in Cushman & Wakefield's LA Downtown

In a move that significantly enhances Cushman & Wakefield's Southern California
operations, the world's largest privately held commercial real estate services firm announced
that Christopher K. Cooper has joined its downtown Los Angeles office as senior managing
director and branch manager.
A prominent and highly respected figure in commercial real estate nationwide, Mr. Cooper
will be responsible for managing the operations and strategic development of the downtown Los
Angeles office. "An outstanding real estate executive, Chris will be a tremendous asset to
our operations in California and will ensure excellent service to the ever increasing needs of
the real estate sector in the region," says Andrew D. Ratner, West Coast regional director
with Cushman & Wakefield.
Mr. Cooper comes to Cushman & Wakefield from Jones Lang LaSalle, where he was executive
vice president of the tenant representation group's Southwestern United States team. Mr.
Cooper's impressive track record of success includes leadership of major projects for large
corporate clients and management of select strategic alliance client relationships for
well-known global corporations. His extensive expertise includes national and global alliance
account management, build-to-suit transactions, master planning, as well as incentives
negotiations.
Prior to joining the brokerage sector of the real estate industry, Mr. Cooper spent 11 years
practicing real estate law and representing public and private sector clients in different
areas of commercial real estate and finance law. His wide expertise includes leasing, tenant
build-outs and build-to-suits, construction, acquisitions, sales, development and finance. He
has acted as lead real estate counsel on large transactions, including the development,
leasing, acquisition and financing of health care facilities. Mr. Cooper also led a real estate
finance team in an impressive $1.1 billion leveraged buy-out, the target assets of which
included 135 parcels.
Mr. Cooper holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and political science from the
University of California at Berkeley and a Juris Doctorate degree from Loyola University. He is
a licensed broker with the California Department of Real Estate and is a member of the State
Bar of California.
