
Cushman & Wakefield, the global property consultant, has appointed the leading real estate
finance specialist Michael Lindsay, as a Partner and head of its EMEA Corporate Finance team in
London.
At Cushman &Wakefield, as an integral part of the Firm's global capital markets platform,
Michael will develop and further expand its existing capabilities in the area of work out,
restructuring and recovery of distressed commercial real estate loans and assets across EMEA.
Prior to joining Cushman & Wakefield, Michael held various senior appointments including
Partner and UK Head of Corporate Finance at KPMG LLP and Director in Citigroup's Real Estate
& Lodging Investment Banking team.
Michael has worked in real estate corporate finance since 1998 and his experience includes
debt and equity advisory, corporate real estate solutions, M&A, loan sales and
restructuring/insolvency. Whilst at KPMG where he was a Partner since 2005, he recently led a
team advising the liquidators of a Lehman subsidiary in Asia on the management and realisation
of a €1.2 bn real estate loan portfolio secured on assets in China, Thailand and
Malaysia.

Michael Lindsay will join Matthew Stone and Luca Giangolini and run the EMEA Corporate
Finance team which comprises chartered accountants, corporate financiers, surveyors and
financial analysts. The team's recent successes include a substantial international equity
raise for L&G's UK Property Income Fund and the disposal of 177 surplus leasehold
liabilities for Wolseley in a single transaction.
This latest appointment is part of an ongoing strategic recruitment initiative across
Cushman & Wakefield.
