  • Cushman & Wakefield Appoints Head Of Sweden

    20 Oct, 2005, Stockholm

Svante Wadman has joined property consultant Cushman & Wakefield Healey & Baker (C&W/H&B), which operates the European division of Cushman & Wakefield, the world's largest privately held real estate consultant, as Partner and Head of the Firm's Swedish office.

With nearly 30 years of commercial real estate experience, Svante was previously a Real Estate Consultant advising US investors on the Nordic, and Central and Eastern European markets. This followed his position as Managing Director of the Nordic Region for GE Capital Real Estate, establishing GE's platform in Sweden and Denmark.

Cushman & Wakefield Healey & Baker's Swedish office was set up in 1997, and offers a full range of commercial property services. In Sweden, C&W/H&B is particularly active in the investment market, transacting around €250mn a year on behalf of buyers and sellers, and in the corporate market, where it provides strategic real estate advice and transactional work for a range of key corporate clients.

John Strachan, International Board Member of C&W/H&B, says: "Svante's experience and knowledge of the Swedish market will help us in our aim to strengthen and expand our position in what is one of the most exciting markets in Europe."

About joining C&W/H&B, Svante comments: "The attraction of joining C&W/H&B is that the Firm has access to some of the largest and most respected clients on a global basis. That wider network is especially important in today's world of cross-border business activity."

Regarding the Swedish market, Svante adds: "Sweden is one of Europe's real estate hotspots. The country has one of the highest economic growth rates in Western Europe, forecast to be 3.5 per cent this year, while at the same time cross-border investors are attracted to a market where yields are above average levels of many other Western European markets."
