DataPipe, a global provider of managed hosting services, has subleased 21,000 square feet
from Aegis at 10 Exchange Place in Jersey City, announced Leonard T. Miller of Cushman &
Wakefield, Inc. The firm has relocated its headquarters to the Class A property from Hoboken,
N.J., in an expansion move.
According to Miller, who, along with Marc Graham, represented DataPipe in negotiating the
multi-year transaction, the sublease was completed in a restricted timeframe. “From the
initial tour to move-in, this deal was consummated in less than two months,” he said.
“It was classic ‘right time, right place’ situation. DataPipe was prepared to
move quickly, and Aegis was focused on executing a deal in order to minimize the downtime of
its surplus space.
“For DataPipe, this opportunity provided great economics, and the space came complete
with furniture and gym space,” he added. “It was a terrific deal all around.
Philip Lipper from Studley brokered the transaction on behalf of Aegis.
DataPipe serves 1,500 customers from six data centers and eight office locations worldwide.
The firm has achieved consistent annual growth since its founding in 1998. Recently, the New
Jersey Business & Industry Association honored the company with a job creation award.
“Moving our headquarters to a premier waterfront building like 10 Exchange Place
places us in the company of some of the largest, most successful corporations on the
globe,” said Robb Allen, DataPipe’s CEO. “We are proud to be part of the
ongoing Jersey City waterfront growth.”
Miller noted that 10 Exchange Place is recognized as one of the most desirable Jersey City
corporate addresses. The 30-story tower features 700,000 square feet of space and sits at the
heart of the Jersey City financial district. It offers on-site PATH access, ample parking and
abundant neighborhood amenities.
