  • Eric Johnson Named SMD of Distressed Assets and Receivership Group

    Cushman & Wakefield announces that Eric Johnson, Senior Managing Director, will oversee California activity for the Distressed Assets and Receivership Services Group.

    "Eric was chosen for this key position due to his exceptional knowledge of real estate development, management, leasing and sales processes, along with his proven track record for creating value for commercial real estate assets," said Stath Karras, Cushman & Wakefield?s executive managing director of national investment sales and who also oversees the Cushman & Wakefield Resolution Group.

    "Eric's role will be vital to our company's efforts to provide owners and lenders of distressed commercial real estate assets with solution-driven strategies that stabilize property performance, enhance value and maximize recovery," Karras said. "He is an experienced professional who understands the challenges facing owners and lenders today."

    The Cushman & Wakefield Distressed Assets and Receivership Services Group operates seamlessly with the company's highly regarded resolution, receivership and capital markets platforms that are increasingly sought after as the nation's mortgage crisis extends to the commercial real estate sector. It provides strong coast-to-coast national coverage, providing clients with a one-stop, fully-integrated resource for receivership, property management, and transaction and disposition services.

    Johnson brings 30 years of experience to his new position with Cushman & Wakefield. Most recently, he was senior managing director of Cushman & Wakefield's North San Diego County and Riverside County operations, a position he previously held with Burnham Real Estate prior to its acquisition by Cushman & Wakefield in early 2008.

    His prior experience also includes serving as senior vice president of Trammell Crow Company, Southern California, where he was responsible for a 38-million-square-foot investment portfolio and 6-million-square-foot corporate facility portfolio. Johnson's career also includes 14 years with CB Richard Ellis, where served as regional manager of its Mountain Region, Denver; executive managing director of its Western Division, Newport Beach; and later as executive managing director of its Eastern Division, Washington D.C..

    Johnson earned a Bachelor of Science degree in communications from Brigham Young University.
