"Government agencies and defense contractors will force a change in commercial
property usage and relocations"
Cushman & Wakefield (C&W) today announced the appointment of Kirk Boyd, Jude Collins,
Bob Walker, and Josh Thomas in the firm's Northern Virginia brokerage services practice.
Highly respected veteran brokers and team leaders, Messrs. Boyd, Collins and Walker have
consistently been top producers in tenant brokerage, most recently at Coldwell Banker
Commercial where they were principals, representing some of the region's most active
telecommunications, engineering, IT consulting, defense contracting and private corporations.
Josh Thomas will work with all of Cushman & Wakefield's leasing brokers in Northern
Virginia.
"This marks a significant step in C&W's continued growth in representing the interests
of tenants in the Northern Virginia market," said Jim Underhill, executive managing
director. "As one of the most active tenant representation firms in the market, ours is a
platform that will help them expand their collaborative tenant representation
success."
Mr. Boyd has extensive experience representing corporate, technology, and government
contracting/information technology clients. While focused on regionally headquartered clients
his procurement experience extends nationally as he provides comprehensive real estate
implementation and strategy for his clients.
"We significantly strengthen our offering by becoming part of a worldwide leader like
C&W which offers a complete professional menu of consulting, strategic planning,
advisory services, appraisal, construction management, brokerage and investment sales
services," said Boyd. "Now we will focus on improved client service as we increase
market share."
"We believe the Northern Virginia market will continue to change and benefit by the shifts
in the Federal government's policies and requirements of those companies who contract with the
government. The setbacks, concentration, and safety of the agencies and contractors will
force a change in commercial property usage and relocations." Boyd continued.
During his nine-year career, Mr. Collins has provided strategic planning, transaction
implementation, site selection, contract negotiations and portfolio management services for
regional and national clients. His experience has provided successful turn-key facility
solutions to each client.
Bob Walker's 11-year career in commercial real estate has included roles in finance, accounting
and corporate advisory services. His corporate advisory services experience includes assessing
the impact of a client's real estate as related to overall business strategy while his finance
and accounting background have enabled him to communicate a broad range of financial
understanding to his clients.
