Richard Taylor and Gary Glatter: Merging Corporate Goals with Commercial Real Estate
Management
Cushman & Wakefield (C&W), the world’s largest privately held commercial real
estate services firm, today announced that Richard Taylor, MCR and Gary Glatter, Esq. have
joined the firm as senior directors. Messrs. Taylor and Glatter will use their
considerable corporate and real estate experience to enhance and expand C&Ws Corporate
Advisory and Tenant Brokerage services with a primary focus on middle-market
companies.
“Combining their C-suite and real estate experience, Richard and Gary will advise
clients on how to maximize property assets to meet business goals,” said Jim Underhill,
executive managing director for the Mid Atlantic. “Their reputation as forward-thinkers
in corporate real estate will greatly enhance C&Ws leadership position in tenant
representation and strategic advisory services.”
Taylor’s and Glatter’s specialized brand of strategic advisory services and
transactional experience starts with an in-depth knowledge of the critical issues today’s
mid-cap corporations face, from pressures to cut costs to operating more efficiently. Highly
attuned to the business realities of corporate executives, owners, and investors, Taylor and
Glatter use their broad base of experience to address these pressures by ensuring that
corporate real estate is in alignment with strategic needs thereby improving ROI and reducing
risk.
“In an increasingly challenging corporate landscape, their ability to organize often
fragmented and uncoordinated real estate plans by gaining a keen understanding of their
clients’ strategic, financial, cultural and operational business drivers will enable us
to better represent our corporate clients,” said Underhill.
“The impact of having a real estate advisor who fully understands that there is more
to a real estate transaction than real estate alone, cannot be measured in mere dollars,”
said Dave Miller, chief financial officer of USinternetworking, Inc. and a long-standing client
of the Taylor/Glatter team.
Richard Taylor joins Cushman & Wakefield with more than 18 years of executive level
business and commercial real estate experience. Previously a senior managing director at
Newmark Knight Frank, Mr. Taylor specializes in driving shareholder value by aligning corporate
real estate with operating, workforce and financial objectives. Mr. Taylor’s
experience covers corporate real estate, real estate consultancy, real estate brokerage and
portfolio management. Much of his work involves conducting strategic facilities and
operations assessments for companies. This is a rigorous review of a company’s real
estate, use of space and logistic analysis of operating processes to identify savings and
efficiencies that may exist but are often unrecognized. Mr. Taylor has completed
transactions in excess of $2 billion dollars comprising more than 10 million square feet.
Mr. Taylor has a degree in property valuation from Massey University, NZ and a master’s
degree in real estate from New York University.
Gary Glatter, Esq. brings over 26 years of extensive experience that includes portfolio
management/workouts, commercial leasing, acquisitions, development, investment sales and
financing. Mr. Glatter’s strong corporate background provides a multi-level
perspective of a company’s operating needs and real estate experience and includes
in-depth experience in the areas of business development, IPOs, private placements, start-ups,
mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, business turnarounds and reorganizations. Formerly
a senior managing director at Newmark Knight Frank, Mr. Glatter has expertise in managing
complex real estate transactions that are typically beyond the scope of many real estate
professionals. He holds a law degree from Albany Law School.
“Gary and I are excited to join Cushman & Wakefield. Our work in assisting mid-cap
companies to become more profitable is greatly enhanced when you combine Cushman’s global
knowledge, service and execution skills with our expertise in effectively managing real
estate,” said Taylor.
