Cushman & Wakefield announced today that Brookfield Office Properties Inc. (NYSE: BPO) has
appointed the global real estate firm as leasing agent for its Manhattan West development,
located on Ninth Ave. between West 31st and 33rd Streets.
Manhattan West, which is being designed by Skidmore Owings and Merrill LLP, will consist of
two office towers of two million square feet each, a third of approximately one million square
feet and a fourth, smaller building which will most likely be mixed-use space. A 1.5-acre
public plaza will transect the site. Construction is slated to begin in the first quarter of
2012, with the delivery of the first tower anticipated in late 2015.
This Class-A development is located at the nexus of New York's public transportation
systems. Nearby transit access includes major subway lines, Penn Station, The Port Authority
Terminal, the PATH trains, Hudson River Ferries, the Westside Heliport, AMTRAK's new Moynihan
Station, and Grand Central Terminal via the newly extended 7 subway line. It is also steps from
the recently expanded High Line and the New Hudson Boulevard Parks.
The Cushman & Wakefield team representing Brookfield will be led by Bruce Mosler, global
team leader and chairman of global brokerage, Arthur Mirante, Josh Kuriloff, Michael Rotchford,
Maureen Kelly, Mikael Nahmias, Ethan Silverstein, Ken McCarthy, senior economist and managing
director of research, as well as global Cushman & Wakefield partners, James Young, head of
EMEA Office Brokerage and Arsh Chaudhry, executive managing director in Singapore.
