Primark, the Irish textile chain opened recently two more stores in Portugal, in two new
shopping centres - Forum Sintra and Aqua Portimão. The new stores cover an area of 4,200 sqm
and 4,400 sqm respectively.
These two openings reinforce the brand presence in the Portuguese market, adding to the
stores opened in 2009 at Dolce Vita Tejo and at Parque Nascente and are representative of the
brand's expansion plans in Portugal.
Cushman & Wakefield acted on behalf of Primark assisting in the search and negotiation
of the most appropriate retail location to the expansion of the brand.
Primark is one of the biggest textile chains founded in Ireland and with a strong presence
in the United Kingdom, which has a wide range of quality products at low prices targeting to
young customers interested in the fashion trends.
Primark's European network has 219 stores and about 31,500 professionals in seven countries.
The brand has today 4 stores in Portugal and has already confirmed a fifth opening at the end
of 2011.
According to Mafalda Cotta of Cushman & Wakefield’s retail department, "It gives us
great pleasure to be involved in the introduction and expansion of a brand such as Primark,
with a different concept that is having extremely success in Portugal".
