Global real estate consultant Cushman & Wakefield (C&W) was responsible for
managing the interior design and architecture of the new Reckitt Benckiser offices in Restelo,
Lisbon.
Reckitt Benckiser is a consumer-goods multinational headquartered in the UK, and is the
largest producer of household goods and one of the largest producers of pharmaceuticals and
personal hygiene products in the world, selling its brands in more than 180 countries. The
company is traded on the London stock exchange and a member of the FTSE 100 Index. The Lisbon
headquarters, located at the Restelo building on Avenida Dom Cristóvão da Gama, occupies 1,200
m2 of offices, and Reckitt Benckiser has opted to remodel its offices based on a new occupation
concept.
Cushman & Wakefield's Project Management Department has developed the new space
occupation concept, architectural plans and a range of new office furniture. The architectural
plans were developed based on translucent plans that are suited to Reckitt Benckiser's brands,
while modeling space according to the company's requirements.
The procurement process was simultaneously prepared to select the contractors and suppliers
necessary, to negotiate and adjudicate contracts and manage and supervise all the remodeling
works taking place.
Matt Smith, associate and Cushman & Wakefield’s head of project management said “Reckitt
Benckiser had already decided to undertake a process of renegotiating and remodeling existing
areas. The new occupation concept was based on an open space philosophy with a number of closed
spaces, primarily meeting rooms, canteen and cabinets. The greatest challenge was to plan
effectively, enabling the works to be carried out without disrupting company operations. We
achieved this by conducting a staggered operation on two floors occupied by Reckitt Benckiser,
and completed the remodeling on time."
