    30 Jan, 2007, Portland

National practice compliments traditional appraisal services and serves growing need for financial reporting, asset and portfolio valuation

Cushman & Wakefield, Inc. announced today that it has appointed Cushman & Wakefield of Oregon’s P. Barton DeLacy, to lead the newly created, national Corporate Valuation Consulting (CVC) specialty practice within the Valuation Services/Capital Markets group.

The CVC practice brings together numerous senior appraisers and consultants from the United States, Canada and the U.K. to better serve the financial reporting needs of its corporate clients.  This national effort is consistent with the Valuation Services group’s growth strategy to enhance its service capabilities and meet the growing demand for specific real estate expertise in asset and portfolio valuation.

This new practice compliments Cushman & Wakefield’s traditional appraisal services and will allow the firm to meet the growing valuation related needs of U.S. companies seeking to comply with Sarbanes-Oxley financial reporting requirements as well as multi-national companies looking to conform to international accounting standards.

With 475 professionals in 80 locations around the globe, Cushman & Wakefield’s Valuation Services group is the world’s premier appraisal and consulting practice.  It offers a full range of specialized services including appraisal, purchase price allocation, litigation support, highest and best-use studies, impairment analysis and specialization in a variety of industry sectors.

“We are thrilled to have Barton at the helm of our new CVC practice.  Barton will take our valuation services to the next level by providing a continuum of services to help clients account for and improve the performance of their corporate real estate assets,” said Portland-based Joe Smurdon, senior managing director, National Operations Valuation Services group.  “CVC will also provide critical, value-added consulting to national professional service firms across the United States.”

As managing director, DeLacy has nearly 30 years experience in real estate valuation and holds the prestigious MAI designation granted by the Appraisal Institute.  He has been elected to membership in the Counselors of Real Estate of the National Association of Realtors and is a Fellow, Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.  Prior to joining Cushman & Wakefield, DeLacy was a real estate consultant and senior manager with Arthur Andersen.  He earned his Bachelor’s degree from Willamette University and a Master’s degree in Urban Planning from Portland State University.
