European Hotel Team Strengthened

Cushman & Wakefield Healey & Baker (C&W/H&B) has strengthened its European hotels team with the appointment of Michelle Webb as a senior surveyor based in the firm's London office.

Prior to joining C&W/H&B, Michelle held the position of senior vice president with Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels in Sydney. There she spearheaded their global research effort, providing advice for government bodies, lobby groups, hotel owners, institutional investors and education organisations on a diverse range of hotel investment issues.

Michelle will work alongside head of hotels Richard Candey who said: "With eight years experience in hotel operations and real estate, Michelle brings to the team an intimate knowledge of hotel investment issues and valuable cross border experience."

"Now is the perfect time to expand the team to respond to unprecedented levels of investor interest in the hotel market, " he added.

At C&W/H&B Michelle will advise on acquisitions and disposals of hotels and resorts, hotel investment product and hotel development opportunities across Europe. She has a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Marketing & Hospitality Management from the University of New South Wales.

C&W/H&B's hotels group has recently advised on a number of high profile deals including the sale of La Manga Club, Spain to Med Group for £146 million, the letting of a 245 bedroom five star hotel to Hilton at More London and the selection of Jurys Inn as operator of a new 280 bedroom hotel on Kings Waterfront, Liverpool. Cushman & Wakefield Inc last year also advised on the sale of the famous Plaza Hotel, New York to El-Ad Properties for $675 million.
