Cushman & Wakefield has announced today that John Stinson has joined the firm as
Managing Director for Capital Markets across the Asia Pacific region. John was previously the
Asia Pacific Regional Director for Investments and Capital Markets with DTZ, where he held
overall regional responsibility for both direct and indirect investment activities.
Based in Singapore, John Stinson is responsible for managing and leading the Cushman &
Wakefield Capital Markets services across Asia Pacific. He will be focused on expanding the
firm's service offerings across the region and increasing the cross-border activity in the
international institutional capital space. This will include direct investments throughout the
region, cross border investments from Asia Pacific into global markets, including UK and
Europe, and working on behalf of international investors seeking to acquire or dispose of
assets.
Sanjay Verma, CEO Asia Pacific for Cushman & Wakefield comments: "We are delighted
John has joined the Cushman & Wakefield team. Not only will he add significant strength to
our regional management team, but also brings with him a depth of experience in the Capital
Markets and real estate investment space. He has been involved in some of the largest
investment deals in recent years across the region and has worked on a number of high profile
direct and indirect mandates, capital raising and marketing of assets for sale. John is a
consummate real estate investment professional with 28 years of professional experience. He
will add immense value to our clients and help us increase our market share in this very
important and fast growing market."
Sanjay Verma continues: "John's appointment is in line with our global expansion and
integration, which focuses on providing seamless services to our clients across the globe. This
is yet another step in our journey of ‘moving with confidence' - to enable our clients to
move through their day with confidence knowing they selected the right real estate services
partner."
John Stinson's appointment coincides with the arrival of Gregory S. Vorwaller, one of the
industry's most experienced property investment and finance executives, as Global Head of
Capital Markets. He joins Cushman & Wakefield from CB Richard Ellis, where he was
Chief Operating Officer of Capital Markets and President of its Investment Properties
Group. He will be based in Chicago.
Greg Vorwaller has nearly 30 years of experience in the financial services and real estate
industries, with an emphasis on advising institutional investors on real estate investment
strategies, structured finance, real estate securitization and property sales. For more than a
decade at CB Richard Ellis he oversaw its Investment Properties Group.
John Stinson's appointment further strengths Cushman & Wakefield’s expansion into
the real estate investment arena in Asia. In 2009, the firm created a new 7 member investment
team in Hong Kong, headed up by Kent Fong and Ricky Wong, who have a combined experience of
over 36 years in the investment markets. In 2009, C&W also acquired an Asset
Management/Funds Management company in Japan and now has assets worth close to US$ 2.5 billion
under management in Japan. This was followed by the creation of a Capital Markets team in
Shanghai in March 2010, following the appointment of a high profile 4 member investment team,
led by Jack Ye & March Suchy.
