  • Cushman & Wakefield Broker Receives SIOR Awards

    Christopher Porter, SIOR, Senior Director with Cushman & Wakefield of Illinois, Inc. Industrial/Technologies Services, was recently honored at the Chicago Chapter of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors Seventh Annual Chapter Awards Luncheon for two marquee transactions completed in 2008.  Firstly, Mr. Porter was awarded the Largest Dollar Volume International Transaction award for representing Kraft Foods in a 260,578 sq.ft. lease in Toronto with Gil Gordon, SIOR, Cushman & Wakefield LePage.  Also, Mr. Porter won the Largest Dollar Volume Industrial Transaction with a Platinum Sponsor award - for the 793,670 sq.ft. lease to Kraft Foods with ProLogis.

    Since joining Cushman & Wakefield in 1987, Mr. Porter has been involved in the successful completion of 475 transactions with an aggregate value in excess of $750 million and is a consistent top performer amongst Cushman & Wakefield’s national industrial brokerage group. Mr. Porter was the #1 industrial brokerage professional in 1998 and 2004, the #2 industrial broker in 1999 and 2007, and 2008 in terms of revenue production, in Cushman & Wakefield’s Chicago and Midwest area offices. In 2004, Mr. Porter was ranked number 5 amongst Cushman & Wakefield’s 170 industrial brokerage professionals nationwide. He represents sellers, purchasers, landlords, or tenants, in the sale or lease of industrial facilities, land or build-to-suits.

    In 1996 and 1999, Mr. Porter was the recipient of Cushman & Wakefield’s prestigious "Service Excellence Award" in the Midwest Region. In 2003 and 2007, Mr. Porter received the CoStar Group/Commercial Property News “Power Broker” award ranking him amongst the top 25 brokers in leasing transaction volume throughout the Chicagoland area. In 2004, 2005, and 2007 Mr. Porter earned SIOR Chicago Chapter Achievement Awards for executing the greatest number of industrial inter-chapter transactions, the largest international transaction, and the largest industrial transaction in the Chicagoland area with a Platinum Sponsor, respectively.  He is actively involved with the Society of Office and Industrial Realtors (SIOR), and has been its Chicago Metropolitan Area Statistics Reporter.  In addition, Mr. Porter has served as a board member of C&W’s National Industrial Advisory Group.  Christopher Porter graduated from the University of Iowa in 1983 with a BBA in Marketing and Management. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Porter was the Los Angeles District Sales Manager for Browning-Ferris Industries of California.
