Nature's Best, an independent, family owned company with more than 41 years in the natural
products industry, has leased a 308,000-square foot distribution center located in Lakeside
Trade Center at 101 Enterprise Drive in Flower Mound, Texas. The company will begin servicing
retailers throughout Texas and surrounding states from the facility in late spring 2011. Mark
Collins and Kirk Collins from the Dallas office of Cushman & Wakefield of Texas, Inc.
(C&W) represented Nature's Best in the search for the new location. Toby Rogers of Hillwood
negotiated the transaction on behalf of the property owner.
"Our comprehensive search for the Nature's Best regional distribution site included more
than 12 months, three states, and a number of potential locations before selecting Hillwood's
Flower Mound property," said Mark Collins. "The amenities at this property, which
included economic incentives from the Town of Flower Mound, were the deciding
factors."
The long-term lease in Lakeside Trade Center Building 5 will feature approximately 35,000
square feet of freezer/cooler space. Nature's Best will model the facility after its recent
relocation of its main distribution center in Chino, California, where the company completed a
successful expansion into a 410,000-square foot LEED Gold Certified building. The company is
currently exploring LEED certification with the landlord for the Flower Mound facility.
Nature's Best was the 2010 recipient of the Supermarket News Technology Excellence Award for
its willingness to overhaul its supply chain technology, and the positive results that
followed.
