Cushman & Wakefield announced today two leases totaling more than 100,000 square feet at
100 Duffy Ave. in Hicksville, Long Island.
In one of Long Island’s largest leases to date, 1199 Service Employees International
Union (SEIU), United Healthcare Workers East, signed a 15-year lease for 56,113 square feet at
the building. The union represents more than 275,000 members and retirees in New York,
Maryland, the District of Columbia and Massachusetts. In another new lease, AIG took 46,588
square feet at the building in a 10-year lease.
Cushman & Wakefield brokerage professionals Jonathan R. Serko and Bill Hartman from the
firm’s Midtown Manhattan office, along with Robert Kuppersmith of the firm’s Long
Island office, represented 1199 SEIU and AIG in their site selections and in lease negotiations
with the ownership, a partnership between Apollo Real Estate Advisors and Blumenfeld
Development Group.
Part of a three-building, 425,000-square-foot office complex, 100 Duffy Ave. is within a
mile of the Long Island Expressway, the Northern State Parkway and the Wantagh Parkway, and is
located next to Long Island Railroad’s Hicksville train station. The complex was acquired
by Apollo and Blumenfeld in 2005 and redeveloped for multi-tenant office use.
