  • Mark Wanic Named Americas Head of Occupier Services

    Cushman & Wakefield today announced it has promoted Mark Wanic to Americas Head of Occupier Services. In this newly created position, Mr. Wanic will manage the goals, objectives and financial performance of the Occupier Services group in the Americas reporting directly to John Santora, President and CEO of Corporate Occupier & Investor Services (CIS).

    Cushman & Wakefield's CIS group is the company's largest operating division with 17,269 properties under management totaling more than 774 million square feet and employing more than 7000 professionals world-wide.

    Mr. Wanic's primary focus will be on growing new and existing occupier clients by leveraging C&W's global platform. In the course of his activities, Mr. Wanic will collaborate closely with the firm's brokerage professionals, leveraging their deep client relationships and proven ability to execute on behalf of their clients.

    The promotion of Mr. Wanic follows on the heels of a series of recent strategic initiatives in Cushman & Wakefield's Americas region including recruitments and promotions of key leadership personnel within the firm and a broadening of operations in South America to include Columbia and Peru.

    Within CIS, a new regional head for the Mid-West U.S. region has recently been appointed and Korn/Ferry International has been retained to recruit a replacement for Mr. Wanic in Manhattan as well as a new regional head for the Western U.S. region. In addition, significant expansions have recently been made in the CIS industrial and retail property management groups, and a broadening of the firm's facilities management services in South America is currently underway.

    With continued growth in revenue and strong operating performance driving success in its strategic initiatives, Cushman & Wakefield has added 1,549 new hires globally in 2011, an increase of 45% over the prior nine-month period in 2010.

    At the global level, Mr. Wanic will work closely with Cushman & Wakefield's regional Corporate Occupier and Investor Services leaders; Michael Creamer, in Europe, the Middle East and Africa; and Richard Middleton in Asia; to ensure consistency in the delivery of the group's broad array of services across regions. He will oversee Occupier Services in the Canada and South America markets in partnership with Pierre Bergevin, President and CEO of Cushman & Wakefield Canada and Celina Antunes CEO, South America.

    Prior to his recent promotion, Mr. Wanic served as Cushman & Wakefield's Senior Managing Director, Area Leader for CIS in the New York Metropolitan market, and was appointed senior relationship manager for a prominent list of international clients including Pfizer, United Technologies, Inc., Abbott Laboratories and Unilever.

    Mr. Wanic's extensive professional background includes having served as Vice President of Global Channel Partner Sales Operations at CA (Computer Associates, Inc.) and Director of International Real Estate Operations at Lucent Technologies based in the Netherlands where he managed 15 million square feet of space.
