  • Downtown Lands Prestigious Dallas Law Firm

    13 Dec, 2005, Dallas, TX

Relocation From Uptown Another Boost To CBD

Bank of America Plaza, the centerpiece of the downtown Dallas skyline, has added the prestigious law firm of Carrington, Coleman, Sloman & Blumenthal, L.L.P. to its impressive list of tenants. The law firm has leased 84,602 rentable square feet on three floors of the 72-story office tower. The law firm will be relocating in the spring of 2006 from the uptown area north of Woodall Rogers Freeway, where it has been a tenant for approximately 20 years, to the Dallas CBD.

Daryl Mullin, senior director, and Lawrence Gardner, director, of Cushman & Wakefield of Texas, Inc. represented Bank of America Plaza in the lease negotiations.

"This lease demonstrates that the Dallas CBD has once again shown the ability to turn the corner," said Mr. Mullin. "The conversions of functionally obsolete office buildings to alternative use, recommitments by longtime high profile downtown tenants, the continued enhancement of the cultural district and this transaction are all part of the positive direction downtown is now heading," added Mr. Gardner.

Fletcher Yarbrough, managing partner of Carrington, Coleman, Sloman & Blumenthal, stated, "The firm is excited about being a part of a new and vibrant downtown Dallas and downtown Dallas business community. We believe our new location and state of the art office space will not only be convenient for our clients, it will enhance our ability to continue to provide them legal services of the highest caliber."

Bill McClung, executive director, and Clay Vaughn, associate director, of Cushman & Wakefield of Texas, Inc. represented the law firm in the transaction.

"Carrington Coleman looked at a number of good alternatives throughout the Dallas market," says Mr. McClung. "Bank of America Plaza met or exceeded the high standards we established for the search."

The project management group of Cushman & Wakefield of Texas, Inc., led by Randy Thompson, senior director, is currently working on construction of the new space for Carrington, Coleman, Sloman & Blumenthal.
