Ferdinand Hlobil has been promoted to Equity Partner of Cushman & Wakefield. He is the
first Czech to reach such a high position in the company’s history. Ferdinand Hlobil is also
the first Equity Partner who comes from the Central and Eastern European region.
Ferdinand Hlobil heads the Central European industrial team. Under his leadership the team
provides lease of modern industrial space and sale and acquisitions of land for commercial
use.
His team has 19 experts operating in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland and Hungary. Last
year alone the team was involved in the lease of about 200,000 sq m of industrial space and the
sale of some 1.6 million sq m for industrial purposes in the Central European region.
In the Czech Republic the industrial team’s experts have represented clients in, for
example, the acquisition of land for the development of PDC Jirny, Prologis Park Úžice and
Tesco Distribution Centrum D8 logistics facilities.
Ferdinand Hlobil has been with the company since 1995. In 2003 he became head of the Central
European industrial team. At the same time he was the first Czech to be promoted to
Partner.
Ferdinand is married, with two daughters. His hobbies include water polo and travelling.
Martin Zizala, head of retail, has been promoted to Partner.
His team specialises in the lease of shopping centres and high street units in centres
of large cities. It currently has 11 experts and ranks among the most experienced on the Czech
market.
The team was involved in, for example, theleasing of the Olympia shopping centres,
thePalladium shopping centre (situated in the heart of Prague), Obchodni centrum Letnany and
Metropole Zlicin, and many other shopping centres throughout the country.
Martin Zizala joined C&W London office in 1998 as a member of the National Retail Agency
team working on high street and shopping centre retail in the Midlands and the North of
England. In 2003 he was appointed as head of retail in the Czech Republic.
Martin Zizala graduated from Oxford Brookes University with a BSc (Hons) degree in Estate
Management. In his spare time he enjoys doing a variety of sports, especially football, skiing
and wakeboarding.
After the recent promotions Cushman & Wakefield’s Prague office has two experts in the
position of Equity Partner: Jonathan Hallett, Managing Director, and Ferdinand Hlobil. Andrew
Thompson, head of the office team, and Martin Zizala have worked their way up to Partner.
