In a report published last week by Trevor Wood Associates, Going Shopping 2008: the Definitive
Guide to Shopping Centres, Cushman & Wakefield was named the UK’s leading
shopping centre leasing team. The ranking is based on the number of shopping centres ranked
within the guide.
All shopping centres were assessed on a number of factors to provide an overall
"attractiveness" rating for shoppers. C&W received the most points for the
schemes we are involved with. Included in list are Liverpool One and Highcross,
Leicester.
Cushman & Wakefield has ousted Churston Heard (now owned by JLL) who topped the table in
2007 and reclaimed its position as the Number 1 Shopping Centre agent in the UK .
John Strachan, Global Head of Retail at Cushman & Wakefield said:
"Our name has been synonomous with shopping centres since the UK market first started to
develop in the 1960s. Today, we advise on over 12 million sq ft of pipeline development with
leasing instructions on over 100 centres acting for some of the largest landlords, on both
large regional centres and smaller market towns across the country."
He continued: "This is a great achievement for the UK shopping centre agency team
headed by Justin Taylor and follows on from our success at the European Awards at Expo, when we
were named
European Property Adviser of the Year."
The Cushman & Wakefield team is also short-listed for the International Retail Award at
MAPIC next week.
