Jodi Pulice of JRT Realty Group Joins “Done Deal Success Story” Panel at WPEO BreakThrough Breakfast

In the 11 years since founding JRT Realty Group, Jodi Pulice has expanded the company to become the nation’s largest woman-owned full-service commercial real estate firm. Speaking recently to 400 business leaders, as part of the “Done Deal Success Story” panel at the Women Presidents’ Educational Organization (WPEO) Annual BreakThrough Breakfast, Pulice described one particular deal that contributed to her success.

The case study involved New York Life Insurance Company. Firmly committed to supplier diversity, New York Life requested Minority/Women Business Enterprise (M/WBE) involvement from their Cushman & Wakefield broker. In response, JRT, which has a strategic alliance with Cushman & Wakefield, joined together to bring their expertise and market knowledge for a lease agreement for executive office space at One MetroTech Center in Brooklyn.

“This successful collaboration between JRT, Cushman & Wakefield and New York Life paved the way for many, many other assignments,” said Pulice.

Such a collaboration has numerous benefits for all parties concerned, she explained. The client is able to fulfill diversity initiatives; Cushman & Wakefield is able to enhance existing client relationships and build new ones; and JRT is able to continue its growth.

“Just last year, the JRT/C&W alliance brokered more than 140 deals with more than 150 Cushman & Wakefield brokers nationwide,” said Pulice. “This accounted for more than 2.2 million square feet, increasing the total portfolio in the past three years by more than 400 percent.”

The other members of the “Done Deal Success Story” panel were Rosalie Stackman

Edson, president and owner, Meadows Office Furniture Co. and Maureen A. Henegan, chief executive officer, Henegan Construction Co.

Other speakers included Lynn Boccio, Esq., vice president, Strategic Business and Diversity Relations, Avis Budget Group; Greta Davis, executive director, Supplier Diversity, Time Warner Inc.; Marsha Firestone, Ph.D., president and founder, WPEO; and Jacqueline Rosa, executive director, Morgan Stanley.

The Annual Breakthrough Breakfast was held at the Rainbow Room in New York. WPEO is a non-profit organization that acts as the regional partner of the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC). It is a coalition of corporations, regionally focused women’s business organizations and certified women business owners.

JRT Realty, along with its alliance partner Cushman & Wakefield, provides leasing and asset management services at more than 150 executive office and industrial buildings nationwide, totaling over 13 million square feet, in key urban and suburban markets. The company’s benchmark for superior service enables corporate and institutional clients, as well as city government, to achieve their diversity spending requirements and long-term success through a full-range of customized client services. These include strategic planning, corporate real estate portfolio management, tenant representation, leasing and property marketing, financing and investment sales.

The company is certified as a Minority and Woman-Owned Business Enterprise (M/WBE) by the WBENC, WPEO, National Minority Business Council (NMBC), New York City Department of Small Business, New York State and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
