Siemens launches significant East Midlands requirement

Siemens has launched one of the biggest ever real estate requirements in the East Midlands, UK to house Siemens Industrial Turbomachinery Ltd a part of its Power Generation division.

Siemens has appointed real estate adviser Cushman & Wakefield to advise on its options for a new 300,000 sq ft manufacturing facility with a large amount of office space. The scope will also include a review of existing site usage.

The Siemens Industrial Turbo machinery Ltd. business located in central Lincoln is currently operating across four leasehold sites which are due to expire in 2017. These include 734,000 sq ft at Ruston Works, 153,000 sq ft at Firth Road and 77,000 sq ft at Freeman Road.

Cushman & Wakefield is looking at sites in the locality of Lincoln which have good utilities and road access.

Managing Director Nick Muntz believes "Our move to a new site will enable us to make many process and cultural changes which would be more difficult to realise in our current location."
