  • C&W Asia Pacific Appoints New Managing Director Of Client Solutions (Asset Services)

    Cushman & Wakefield, the world's largest privately held real estate services, announced today the appointment of Charu Thapar Chakravarti to Managing Director- Client Solutions (Asset Services), Cushman & Wakefield Asia Pacific.

    In this new expanded role, Charu will be responsible for establishing and leading Cushman & Wakefield’s regional Client Solutions Group amalgamating the distinct yet interrelated disciplines of Property Management and Facilities Management.  As Managing Director, Charu’s primary focus will be to provide leadership to our teams across the region and expand our current diverse portfolio.

    Michael Thompson, CEO, Cushman & Wakefield Asia Pacific commented on the appointment: “This is another significant step forward for Cushman & Wakefield as we continue our ambitious expansion plan in Asia Pacific.  Throughout the region clients are demanding truly integrated services and given the size and diversity of Asia Pacific we require quality management to support our operations, and Charu is a key component in this initiative.”

    Frank Freda, Executive Managing Director of Global Client Solutions added: “Property and Facilities Management are the pillars of our Client Solutions platform and fundamental to all the services we offer. Charu is a consummate professional and understands our clients varied needs across the Asian region. In this new role, Charu will be leading the introduction of new technologies and systems to bring global best practice to the management and care of our clients’ real estate assets.”

    Charu is a nine year veteran of Cushman & Wakefield and was a founding member of the firm’s operations in India. She was most recently Executive Director, Facilities Management for India, responsible for establishing the service line in one of the region’s most dynamic markets. Under Charu’s leadership, the total sq ft under management by C&W in India has increased from 300,000 sq ft in 2003 to more than 8,500,000 today, with staff increasing from 20 to over 650.

    Charu’s appointment is a major step forward for Cushman & Wakefield, as the firm continues to diversify and expand operations throughout Asia.
