  • Don Cartwright Joins Cushman & Wakefield of Florida as Director Of Leasing, Client Solutions Practice

    23 Apr, 2008, Miami, FL

Don Cartwright, a highly regarded commercial real estate professional with three decades’ experience in the leasing, sales, management and development of class A properties, has been named director of leasing for Cushman & Wakefield of Florida’s client solutions practice. Cartwright will spearhead leasing and marketing initiatives for downtown Miami’s landmark office tower, Wachovia Financial Center.

The announcement was made by Tere Blanca, senior managing director and manager of Cushman & Wakefield of Florida.

“Don Cartwright is recognized as a top-tier professional in the real estate services industry, and he will be a valuable addition to Wachovia Financial Center and the Cushman & Wakefield team,” said Blanca. “We could not have selected a more qualified brokerage professional to lead the firm’s services for Wachovia Financial Center, long recognized as Miami’s premier class A office tower."

According to Blanca, the addition of Cartwright is part of the firm’s aggressive expansion of its client solutions – or landlord representation – practice. Since 2004, the firm’s client solutions’ management and leasing portfolio has more than doubled in size, from four million to just under 10 million square feet of office, industrial and retail space that is overseen by John Scott, director of client solutions, from Cushman & Wakefield’s three offices in South Florida.

Cartwright’s appointment as director of leasing for Miami’s largest office tower coincides with the June 1,2008 resignation of Tim Prunka, a respected veteran who is stepping down to spend time with his family. As part of Cushman & Wakefield’s client solutions practice, Prunka helped drive occupancy at Wachovia Financial Center from 88 percent in 2004 to a building-high 99 percent this year.

Don Cartwright previously served as senior vice president of DTZ Rockwood’s Miami office. Prior to that, Cartwright was a principal with the Trammell Crow Company in South Florida. Prior to Trammell Crow, he served as senior vice president and regional leasing director for Florida with Jones Lang LaSalle. Cartwright is a graduate of Washington and Lee University, holds the CSM designation by the International Council of Shopping Centers, and served on the National Board of Directors of the NAIOP.

Recognized as one of Wall Street Journal's Top Ten Towers, Wachovia Financial Center features more than 1.1 million square feet of class A office space and towers 55 stories above South Biscayne Boulevard. Offering unsurpassed bay, city and skyline views, the building has an unbeatable amenity base including The Havana Club, banking, valet and 12 floors of parking, a retail plaza with on-site restaurants, a health club and efficient and open floor plates.

Distinguished by its striking “saw-tooth” design, Wachovia Financial Center is approximately 99 percent leased and home to many of Miami’s top professional firms and corporations, including Deloitte, Bilzin Sumberg LLP, Goldman Sachs, Knight Foundation, Merrill Lynch, Morgan Lewis LLP, Morgan Stanley, Porsche Latin America, Squire Sanders & Dempsey LLP, Wachovia Bank and White & Case, LLP.

Wachovia Financial Center is located at 200 Biscayne Boulevard in Miami, Florida. For leasing information, contact Don Cartwright and the Cushman & Wakefield client solutions team at (305) 373-3400, or visit www.wachoviafinancialcenter.com.
