Leading women’s fashion retailer Karen Millen is to open a further two stores in continental
Europe bringing its global total to over 180.
Karen Millen will open its showcase Brussels store at Avenue Louise 3. The 220 sq m store
will be close to Longchamp, Max Mara, Gérard Darel and Claudia Sträter. It is the retailer’s
second store in Belgium; its first opened in Antwerp in 2003.
It will also open its third store in the Netherlands and its second in Amsterdam at P.C.
Hooftstraat 71. The 256 sq m store will trade alongside retailers including Chopard, Louis
Vuitton, Salvatore Ferragamo and Anne Fontaine.
Mark Burlton, head of cross-border retail, Cushman & Wakefield, said: “These two stores
are both on high profile streets which will help to drive the profile of the brand still
further in these countries. We are constantly looking for more opportunities for the Karen
Millen brand to expand into all developed European retail markets.”
Karen Millen is one of the UK’s biggest retail success stories. Founded in 1981 by business
partners Kevin Stanford and Karen Millen with a loan of just £100, it opened its first store in
Kent in 1983. Bought in 2004 by Mosaic Fashions Ltd, the brand now has 180 stores.
