Illumina Expands its San Diego Presence

The San Diego office of Cushman & Wakefield announces that Illumina Inc. (NASDAQ:ILMN) is expanding its San Diego operations. The company has signed a 51,863-square-foot lease in Canyon Ridge Technology Park located just minutes from its corporate headquarters facility. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

“The expansion provides Illumina with a low-cost alternative for growth within the San Diego area,” said Steve Rosetta, executive director with Cushman & Wakefield. “Illumina’s recent real estate activity as well as the doubling of its stock over the past year suggests that the company is well positioned for continued growth.”

Illumina, a leading developer, manufacturer and marketer of next-generation life science tools and integrated systems for the analysis of genetic variation and biological function is expected to move into the space located on the first floor of the building at 9440 Carroll Park Dr (92121) in July.

In the transaction, Steve Rosetta and Ted Simpson of Cushman & Wakefield represented Illumina Inc. Eric Northbrook and Michael Macie, also of Cushman & Wakefield, represented the lessor, The Irvine Company.

Rosetta and Simpson also represented Illumina in February 2007 in its corporate headquarters lease which totals 193,136 square feet at 9855-9885 Towne Centre Drive, San Diego (92121).
