  • Cushman & Wakefield appointed co-exclusive letting agent for Dolce Vita Braga

    30 Sep, 2008, Lisbon

Global real estate consultant Cushman & Wakefield (C&W) recently announced that it had been selected as joint exclusive leasing agent for Dolce Vita Braga, a new retail project developed by Chamartín Imobiliária, one of the largest retail developers. Leasing will be conducted jointly with Chamartín’s in-house team.

Dolce Vita Braga has a gross lettable area (GLA) of 75,000 m2, and will include a Continente hypermarket, a multiplex cinema, a leisure area with a health club, restaurants and various retail units, totalling 165 stores and 2,750 parking spaces. Chamartin’s new shopping centre represents a total investment of 137 million Euros.

Dolce Vita Braga will be the region’s largest shopping centre and will be located in the north of Braga, in the parish of Dume, opposite the future Cávado ring-road. There will be a direct connection to the A3 motorway which links Porto to Valença and the EN101 between Braga and Guimarães. Easy access will also be provided to the main road network.

Due to open in October 2009, Dolce Vita Braga will serve a population of more than 200,000 inhabitants within a 20-minue catchment area.

According to Francisco Vasconcellos of Cushman & Wakefield Lisbon’s retail team, “It gives us great pleasure to be working with Chamartín again, leasing its latest scheme. The leasing of Dolce Vita Braga is proceeding at a fast pace, with the main groups from the distribution and retail sectors, as well as local and regional retailers, all interested in leasing space in this shopping centre”.

In 2007, C&W Portugal’s retail team was responsible for the letting almost 50,000 m2 of new retail space, and completed the marketing of projects such as Sonae Sierra’s 8ª Avenida and Martifer’s Porto Gran Plaza. It is currently leasing projects such as Loures Retail Park, Metro Retail Park and Lisboa Retail Centre, among others, and collaborating actively in the expansion of retailers such as Claire’s, Game, Aldo, Virgin Active and others. It has previously worked with Chamartín (then Amorim Imobiliária) in the leasing of Dolce Vita Douro in Vila Real and provides annual valuations of this Spanish developer’s assets in Portugal.
