L-3 Communications Signs Lease In Carlsbad Research Center

The San Diego office of Cushman & Wakefield announces that L-3 Communications, a leading supplier of products and services used in aerospace and defense platforms, has signed a five-year, $1,949,196 lease for a 21,000-square-foot office building in Carlsbad Research Center, located at 5928 Geiger Ct., Carlsbad, Calif. (92008).
The lessee was represented by Matt Strockis of Cushman & Wakefield. The lessor, DooRan America, Inc., represented itself. John Hoffman of Cushman & Wakefield and Dave Pinnegar of Colliers International represented Open Text, Inc, the previous sublessor that ended its lease commitment with Doo Ran America, which resulted in L-3 Communications’ long-term lease interest at Carlsbad Research Center.
Built in five phases over 10 years through 1995, the 500 acre Carlsbad Research Center is considered one of North San Diego’s most prestigious business park environments. The office, research, and light industrial park totals in excess of 7.5 million square feet. Neighboring Tenants of L-3 Communications include Callaway Golf, Mercedes Benz, Autogenomics, and Genoptix.
