C&W TEAM REACHES SUMMIT OF KILIMANJARO
A team of 13 Cushman & Wakefield (C&W) staff representing 8 different countries
where C&W operates, has succeeded in reaching the summit of Kilimanjaro, Africa in support
of Schools Around The World (SATW) the firm?s registered charity which helps young people whose
opportunities are limited by their domestic, social and financial circumstances.
The expedition lasted for eight days and culminated in probably the most physically
challenging day that most of the team had ever experienced. Starting at midnight on Friday the
team climbed to 5,895 metres over 8 hours and then descended down to 3,100 metres - a climb
that took 17 hours in total. The team had to overcome problems of acclimatisation which
involved headaches, sickness and extreme cold.
Harry Farthing, Managing Partner of Cushman & Wakefield's Italian operations who led the
climb said: "A 100% success rate for a group summit attempt on Kilimanjaro is rare and the
sheer will and determination of the team was extraordinary and I congratulate them
all."
