UNILEVER HQ REFURBISHMENT AT VÁCI ÚT COMPLETED
Global real estate consultants, Cushman and Wakefield (C&W) and DVM Group design and
construction team have successfully handed over the completed refurbished 5,500 sq m HQ office
of Unilever, one of the largest FMCG companies in the world, in district 13 Budapest.
During the whole process DVM Group, who enjoy outstanding references and a long running
relationship with Unilever, were responsible for the design and construction works while
C&W's Project Management team co-ordinated the entire project.
A change to Unilever's Human Resource policy served as the basis for the redesigning of the
office area with Unilever opting for an open plan office layout. To improve efficiency of the
work environment the common areas were integrated into the open areas, so that they can serve
the office without disturbing the seated employees. These areas include the break-out areas and
the printers and machines being separated to eliminate noise.
"From the very start of the cooperation, we carefully listened to the client's needs
and requirements and enjoyed an efficient and professional relationship with C&W Project
Management team. The result is an extremely successful project, completed in a timely manner
and one which has satisfied the clients needs" said Tibor Massányi, director at DVM Group.
"In addition, when considering the sustainability issue, which was of critical importance
to Unilever, we managed to re-configure the space in a way that allowed increased efficiency.
We selected materials from sustainable sources (carpet), as a large corporation such as
Unilever sustainability and green issues are of key importance when entering into real estate
commitments."
Ádám Csikós, Head of Project Management at C&W added:"Before the construction works
started we had a long preparation period for the project. This allowed us to compile and
prepare for the management of the whole 5,500 sq m project in a relatively short window of 4
months. It is important to note that the entire project was completed with minimum disruption
or disturbance to Unilever's working environment. DVM Group's professionalism and the patience
of the Unilever employees was indispensable for the successful execution of the project. We
feel that this refurbishment has created a working environment for Unilever that can be used as
the benchmark when comparing their offices on a global scale and one which the Budapest
employees can enjoy in the long term."
Apart from the project management Cushman & Wakefield real estate advisory was
representing Unilever in extending its lease at the Váci út HQ.
