Chemical and materials giant BASF is building a new North American headquarters at The Green at
Florham Park, and that project has garnered the 2011 United Way of Northern New Jersey
Commercial Real Estate Network's Impact Award. The 325,000-square-foot build-to-suit lease
transaction was arranged by the Cushman & Wakefield, Inc. team of Robert Donnelly, Robert
Donnelly Jr., Marc Rosenberg, and Ben Brenner. The owner of the property is The Rockefeller
Group.
The honor was announced at the United Way Commercial Real Estate Network Legacy Luncheon on
May 6. "This annual event places the spotlight on the tremendous infrastructure needs
faced by local nonprofits and recognizes the real estate transaction that had the greatest
positive impact in Morris County within the past year," said Theresa Lepore, United Way's
senior vice president for resource development.
Currently under construction, BASF's new class A North American headquarters is slated for
delivery in mid-2012. The facility will combine the current headquarters at 100 Campus Drive in
Florham Park with operations based in Rockaway, N.J., bringing 1,400 employees under one roof,
with room for future growth.
The United Way award marks the third time this month that the BASF transaction has been so
honored. The Morris County Economic Development Corporation awarded the Cushman &
Wakefield, Inc. team with its Top Real Estate Broker Award at MCEDC's 19th Annual Partners in
Economic Development Awards Lunch. The deal also was honored with NAIOP New Jersey?s Creative
Deal of the Year-Office award.
"This location met BASF's goal of having all or most of their operations in one
place," said Robert Donnelly. "The result is the largest build-to-suit agreement in
New Jersey in several years."
