Cushman & Wakefield announced today that David E. Green, a Cushman & Wakefield
executive director, was honored by the Young Men's/Women's Real Estate Association (YM/WREA) as
the 2011 Young Real Estate Man of the Year.
The YM/WREA was established in 1948. Its mission is to cooperate with all other organizations
with common purpose and goals; to unite in common action to further these goals; to promote
greater understanding and knowledge among its members; to strive to secure the highest standing
of ethical and moral professional conduct by its members and the entire real estate
industry.
Mr. Green, a member of the association since 1995 will accept the award from Brandl Frey,
chairman of the Association at its members-only December luncheon at the University Club and
then again at the 116th annual REBNY banquet in January.
"It is a great honor to not only be recognized for the effort and investment I have made
in my profession, but for my contributions to the Association that have made an impact on so
many people in need," said Mr. Green.
In addition to serving on the board in 2006 & 2007, Mr. Green, co-chaired the Association's
summer golf and tennis outing from 2006 through 2010, states that the Association's fundraising
efforts from this event are put to good use in a multitude of ways to benefit many of the
community's under privileged. For instance, Mr. Green organized YM/WREA's annual
"Feed-the-Less-Fortunate" campaign in association with the River Fund of NY and
iEatGreen, LLC, who prepare and serve Thanksgiving meals the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. Last
year, the event served over 400 people at Rufus King Park in Jamaica, Queens.
"This is one of the most coveted awards in the real estate industry," said Tara
Stacom, a vice chairman at Cushman & Wakefield who brought Mr. Green to the firm in 2007.
"David Green has been selected by his peers for exemplifying integrity, knowledge and
accomplishments in the field of real estate as well his dedication to the many causes that
YM/WREA has been committed to over the years," says Stacom.
Mr. Green has more than 25 years of real estate experience working for many of the city's
most reputable brokerage firms and landlords. For the past 15 years, he has worked for such
prominent landlords as Harry Macklowe, Equitable Real Estate Investment Management and Vornado
Realty Trust. Since joining Cushman & Wakefield, he has advised such noteworthy clients as
Hines Interests, L&L Holdings, Blackstone Real Estate Advisors, Morgan Stanley and CW
Capital. Mr. Green's career began as a tenant representative at Sutton & Edwards and
subsequently Williams Real Estate.
Most recently, Mr. Green was part of the team that completed the repositioning of Two Park
Avenue to tenants such as Gilt Group, ASME, North Shore LIJ and Kate Spade. Other notable
transactions he has worked on include the lease renewals of Lazard Frères for 450,000 square
feet at 30 Rockefeller Center, Paul Weiss for 390,000 square feet and Schroder's for 200,000
square feet at Equitable Center, the New York Stock Exchange for 350,000 square feet at 20
Broad and The Limited's 300,000-square-foot consolidation of its New York offices at 1740
Broadway.
Mr. Green received a degree in Economics from SUNY Binghamton. He is currently a committee
member on the Real Estate Board of NY?' Plaza, Grand Central & Midtown West Committees. In
addition, he serves on the Board of Directors for The River Fund of New York.
