The addition of Bärbel Strauß, who today joined global real advisor Cushman & Wakefield in
Germany as Partner and Co-Head of Valuation & Advisory, completes the planned tripartite
leadership team of the valuation department. The new Partner will take on the task of
establishing, building and leading a residential real estate valuation team based in Berlin.
Strauß has concentrated on the valuation of large residential portfolios in recent years and
led a residential valuation team at CBRE in Berlin. Prior to joining CBRE in 2005 she was a
freelance consultant, among other topics, on real estate.
Cushman & Wakefield is planning to double the size of its currently 20-strong valuation
team in Frankfurt and Berlin over the next two-to-three years and is seeking experienced
managers as well as young talent. The firm is additionally making significant investment in
technology and processes, to further increase efficiency and be able to offer clients even
faster response times. In addition to being a Chartered Surveyor and a highly-experienced
valuer, Bärbel Strauß also brings particular expertise in this area; in the implementation of
IT tools, databanks and applications.
Ulf Buhlemann, Partner, who together with Martin Belik, Partner, and Bärbel Strauß leads the
Valuation & Advisory department of Cushman & Wakefield in Germany commented: "In
Bärbel Strauß we have gained a very experienced and renowned valuation manager, who brings
particular expertise in the valuation of large-volume residential portfolios. Over the last few
years she has regularly valued residential portfolios involving some 250 thousand dwelling
units and with a total value of over 10 billion Euro and is highly regarded by the major asset
holders and banks as an expert in residential valuation. Her joining our valuation team is a
further important step in implementing our recently announced expansion plan and provides a
major boost to the growth momentum of our residential valuation team."
Ulf Buhlemann joined the leadership of C&W's valuation department as Partner and Member
of the German Board on July 1st, 2012. Based in Berlin, together with Bärbel Strauß, also in
Berlin, and Martin Belik in Frankfurt he will continue to further the expansion of the German
team and its implementation in the global C&W valuation platform for national and
international clients.
