Trendy ice-cream brand Amorino opened its first store in Portugal. Inaugurated last month,
the new ice-cream shop is located in Rua Augusta in Lisbon's downtown, one of the most
traditional streets of the capital. The shop is located at number 209 and occupies an area of
160 m2.
C&W was the real estate firm responsible for introducing this international brand into
the Portuguese market.
Founded in 2002 by Cristiano Sereni and Paolo Benassi, Amorino opened its first shop in
Paris. Today there are 78 shops, mostly located in Europe. This is a premium brand that relies
on the quality of its products and welcoming environment of its shops. The brand's mission is
to let its customers experience the genuine flavour of Italian ice cream.
Amorino’s representative in Portugal, said “To date the Lisbon Amorino shop has been a
resounding success. We have served countless tourists and local residents who appreciate our
premium ice-cream products and retail concept. Amorino has a presence in 10 countries around
the world and opening a shop in Portugal was the obvious next step in our expansion, with clear
prospects for growth. C&W played a key role in the process, looking for a prime location in
one of the busiest streets of Lisbon.”
Mafalda Cotta of Cushman & Wakefield’s retail department said “The fact that Rua Augusta
is such a busy street makes it the perfect location for Amorino. This street's tradition
affords it a charm that the brand wanted for its first shop in Portugal”. Sandra Belo, also of
Cushman & Wakefield, said “We believe that this new opeining will boost the increasingly
evident re-emergence of trade in Lisbon's downtown.”
