Cushman & Wakefield today announced Brian Dawson has been promoted to lead the firm's
Washington, D.C. area operations. As Senior Managing Director, Area Leader, he assumes
oversight of the company's strategic business objectives, recruitment goals, day-to-day
activities, and continued growth of services in the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan area,
including Virginia and Suburban Maryland.
The move follows a series of key leadership announcements in the U.S. bolstering the
company's aggressive growth plan locally and nationally. William Magner has been named
President of Cushman & Wakefield's East Region after nearly two years of successfully
leading the firm's Washington, D.C. Area operations in addition to serving as Regional Leader
of the company's Mid-Atlantic and Southeast Areas.
"Brian is a seasoned and highly respected professional with a proven track record of
success in the market," said Mr. Magner. "I am delighted that he will be taking over
the reins of the Washington, D.C. area which is one of the most dynamic real estate markets in
the world. His appointment reflects our deep bench and our commitment to execute on our
Strategic Plan as we continue to drive platform growth that benefits our clients while offering
the most creative, innovative and consistent mix of services in the region."
In his previous role, Mr. Dawson led the firm's Suburban Maryland operations while
continuing to service clients as a managing broker. In his new role he will focus exclusively
on managing the firm's business objectives and performance in the D.C. area while driving
growth. A 25-year industry veteran of the commercial real estate industry, Mr. Dawson joined
Cushman & Wakefield in 2007 as a senior director and partner in the firm's Institutional
Investment Sales group.
Prior to joining Cushman & Wakefield, Dawson was a principal at Spaulding & Slye
Colliers.
