Cushman & Wakefield, the world's largest privately owned real estate services company, has
hired Donald Reid as partner and head of Project Management & Building Surveying in
Scotland.
Donald is a qualified building surveyor with more than 17 years' experience delivering
complex projects for a broad range of clients. Donald joins Cushman & Wakefield from
property and construction consultancy Davis Langdon, part of AECOM, where he was head of
project management in Scotland. Prior to this, he spent 12 years with Mackenzie Partnership
before the business merged with Davis Langdon in 2007.
Donald will be based in Cushman & Wakefield's Glasgow office and will be responsible for
spearheading the growth of Cushman & Wakefield's Scottish Project Management & Building
Surveying business, working closely with the UK Project Management & Consultancy team
headed up by Philip Nye. This appointment is part of a strategic recruitment drive to expand
the firm's project management and building surveying services and further appointments will be
announced in due course.
Bryan Laxton, UK CEO at Cushman & Wakefield, said: "Donald is a highly talented
individual with first-class experience and reputation in Scottish project management. There is
significant scope to grow our project management capabilities right across the UK and
particularly in Scotland and we believe Donald has the skills and leadership qualities to
ensure we achieve this."
David Davidson, Cushman & Wakefield's Managing Director, Scotland, added: "This
appointment and the others soon to be announced are evidence of the investment we are making in
our business in Scotland. Whilst the local economy may be challenging we see great scope to
work with our local and international clients to optimise the quality and efficiency of their
commercial properties, whether they are investors or occupiers. Scotland will be in focus for
many reasons over the next two years with The Commonwealth Games and Ryder Cup and, of course,
the independence referendum - but for us, it is all opportunity."
