The retail departments of C&W Belgium and C&T Retail have been chosen by Foruminvest
as partners to market their new shopping centres in Belgium. In the first phase, projects will
be initiated in Verviers and Kortrijk. Charleroi and Namur will come on board in a subsequent
phase. In Kortrijk, Foruminvest intends to build some 34,000 m² of total surface area midway
through 2006, with one thousand parking spaces in the town centre, giving it a long-overdue
facelift in terms of design. In the spa town of Verviers, the Dutch developer is seeking to
expand the A1 shopping area in the town centre with the support of the local authorities,
through a project with a water theme, whose intention is to restore Verviers' former glory.
This will include a total surface area of 30,000 m² and 1350 parking spaces. C&W and
Foruminvest are already very familiar with each other, having worked together previously on
leasing and selling the Grand Prés in Mons, which was the first project undertaken by the Dutch
developer in Belgium.
