New Appointments Boost Shopping Centre Team
18 Jul, 2005, London
Cushman & Wakefield Healey & Baker (C&W/H&B) has appointed Tom Lester as a senior negotiator in its UK shopping centre development and leasing team. David Harrison is also transferring from the firm's retail investment team as negotiator.
Andrew Pickett has also joined to provide specialist advice on leisure and restaurant space. He was previously with Burger King Ltd and Bass Leisure Retail.
The appointments are a major step forward in partner Justin Taylor's plan to double the size of his team to lease a number of new build regional shopping centres currently in the pipeline. These include new instructions such as the 800,000 sq ft Stevenage town centre scheme for Stanhope/ING, Grosvenor's Tithebarn scheme which will regenerate a large part of central Preston, and Hammerson's new retail quarter for Sheffield.
Tom Lester has spent the last eight years in Australia working in the property market in Sydney and before that he worked for Healey & Baker as a retail agent between 1994 and 1997.
Justin Taylor, partner and head of shopping centre leasing, C&W/H&B said: "We have been instructed on a significant amount of new floor space both in terms of existing shopping centres and new build in the pipeline. The result is we are looking to double the size of the existing team as fast as possible."
