  • Cushman & Wakefield Dominates Houston NAIOP Awards

    17 Feb, 2006, Houston, TX

Cushman & Wakefield has earned four of the six industry awards given by the Houston Chapter of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP).  The Houston Chapter, among the largest in the country, held its annual awards ceremony February 16 at the Houston Country Club to honor members of the local commercial real estate industry.  The affair is one of the industry's biggest and most successful events of the year, honoring extraordinary brokerage professionals.

    B. Kelley Parker, SIOR, executive vice president, won Industrial Broker of the Year.  The 30-year veteran is a living legend in the commercial real estate industry.  During the past five years, Parker has completed transactions totaling more than 15 million square feet and 43,000 acres.  He is well known for his heavy industrial and waterfront property expertise in Houston and around the country.

Sweeping the office division awards, Scott Wegmann, co-managing director of the firm, was honored as Office Broker of the Year and Justin Leighton, associate, was recognized as the Office Rising Star of the Year.  Wegmann's 23 years in the business has produced transactions in excess of 18 million square feet, while Leighton is rising through the ranks having secured more than one million square feet of business during his three year tenure.

In its unprecedented recognition, the Deal of the Year was awarded to Steve Montgomery, senior director, and Angus Hughes, director, who represented EPCO last November in the purchase of 1100 Louisiana, a 55-story downtown building, from National Office Partners L.P.  Also involved in the representation was David Chuoke, senior director, in Cushman & Wakefield Houston's investment sales division.

All of the Cushman & Wakefield honorees were commended for the leadership, professionalism, production, and community involvement during the past year.
